In October 2008, the following awards were presented to our outstanding volunteers:
Special Appreciation Award - Richard T. Vinick '43
Presented to alumni to recognize service and unwavering loyalty to Union College and to the Alumni Council.
Distinguished Service to Union Award - Estelle Cooke-Sampson '74
Presented to alumni who have demonstrated exceptional commitment and loyalty to their alma mater and who have made significant and diverse contributions to the College over their lifetime.
Gold Volunteer of the Year - Sarah Bell '04, Head Agent
Presented to the volunteer in a 'Graduates of the Last Decade' class who has demonstrated exceptional commitment and contributed significantly to the success of The Union Fund.
The Union Fund Volunteer of the Year - George S. Bain '73, Agent
Presented to the volunteer who has demonstrated exceptional commitment and contributed significantly to the success of The Union Fund.
Alumni Interviewer of the Year - Karen Scott '06
Karen conducted eight alumni interviews during the 2007-2008 academic year.
Alumni Admissions Appreciation Award - Charles E. Roden '60
Each year, Charles conducts multiple interviews and hosts a reception at his house for prospective students and families. His willingness to open his home and share his pride in Union is always a cause for our successful recruitment efforts in the Westchester County, NY area.
Outstanding Admissions Volunteer - Cindy A. Burns '78
Cindy hosted and assisted in organizing an 'admitted and prospective' student reception at her home. Conducted multiple alumni interviews, and continually serves as a Union champion by always engaging prospective students and families.
