Former Obama press secretary Robert Gibbs to speak at Union

Former White House press secretary Robert Gibbs will speak Monday, April 25, at 7 p.m. in Memorial Chapel.

His talk, “Inside Washington: What’s Next?” is free and open to the public.

Gibbs, a longtime advisor and strategist to President Barack Obama, will discuss some of the key issues that will be a part of the upcoming 2012 elections.

Gibbs joined Obama's Senate campaign in 2004 as communications director and then had the same role in the 2008 presidential campaign. He stepped down as press secretary earlier this year to serve as an outside adviser to Obama’s re-election campaign.

The talk is sponsored by the Speakers Forum, a student club.
