Provides training, technical assistance, referral and support to schools; Understands and is able to help schools and community agencies be able to implement support services such as Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports, Response to Intervention and other models that improve students’ behavior,increase staff skills, utilize learning time efficiently, improve student/youth/parent social and life skills; assures compliance with State and Federal Special Education mandates. Maintains an up-to-date knowledge base of assigned priority areas; Promotes and supports school/community initiatives through the coordination of meetings and information dissemination throughout assigned area; Participates in workgroups as established by funding source, including workgroups to develop, review and revise related guides and training materials. Assists in the revision and improvement of training materials as assigned;Assists in the development and implementation of processes and procedures for evaluating services; Attends meetings and trainings as requested by the funder or BOCES; Participates in staff development relevant to the enhancing skills and knowledge related to the goals and mission of the assignment; Makes
referrals to resources and provides information to school/agency staff on learning standards, program development and assessment, effective programs and implementation.
Master degree, school certified in Special Education or related service, 5 years experience of teaching or providing related services and or administration of special education and related services.
