About the English major
Majoring in English at Union immerses you in a rich exploration of literature, where you’ll analyze diverse voices and genres to deepen your understanding of culture, history and the human experience. Through close reading, critical thinking and lively discussion, you’ll develop communication and analytical skills that prepare you for a wide range of careers.
- Present at the Steinmetz Symposium research day each spring
- Contribute to the campus literary magazine, the Idol, and the student newspaper, Concordiensis
- Edit and publish in The Minerva Review, an undergraduate scholarly journal
- Live in Dickens House and host events based on literary works and thought
