About the Philosophy major

As a Union College philosophy major, you will explore profound questions through engaging courses led by supportive faculty who cultivate critical thinking, writing and analysis skills.

The department hosts a renowned speaker series featuring influential philosophers discussing topics like moral relativism and human dignity. Students can engage further by taking New Directions in Philosophy, a course inspired by these talks. The Philosophy Club publishes Ephemeris, a leading undergraduate journal showcasing exceptional student work in ethics, metaphysics and more for over two decades.
