About the Psychology major

As a Union College psychology major, you’ll study behavior and mental processes through diverse courses while gaining practical experience. Internships with marketing firms, clinics, and special-needs facilities offer hands-on learning for various career paths. Research opportunities include faculty-led labs, earning credit, or summer fellowships, with many students co-authoring papers or presenting at conferences. Senior theses foster independent projects often showcased at the Steinmetz Symposium.

The Psychology Speaker Series brings leading scholars to campus to explore topics such as the neurobiology of addiction and political psychology. Honors students gain additional opportunities to engage in these discussions and present their own work, enriching their academic and professional development.
