Energy Studies
About the Energy Studies minor
The Union College Energy Studies minor is designed for students in any major who are interested in energy-related issues. You will gain an understanding of the technical, economic, sociological and policy issues surrounding how we source, harness and use energy.
More than two dozen courses cover such topics as:
- environmental anthropology
- environmental ethics
- environmental history and literature
- global perspectives on energy
- renewable energy
- solar energy analysis and design
Students are encouraged to participate in the New Zealand mini-term abroad over the winter break. Traveling through this island country in the southwestern Pacific Ocean, you will tour power generation sites and meet with public officials, environmental regulators, farmers, foresters, engineers, plant operators and representatives of the Maori people.
