About the Environmental Engineering major
As an Environmental Engineering major at Union College, you'll study engineering, science, and liberal arts to address environmental challenges. The program emphasizes collaboration and explores how human actions affect the environment and communities.
Through hands-on research with advanced tools, you'll build a foundation in engineering, math, and science. Courses cover energy, water resources, waste management, and contaminant transport, with electives like sustainable infrastructure and green building design.
After Union
Career opportunities are expansive and growing every day. Environmental engineering professionals work in air and water pollution control and remediation, public health, recycling and other areas, with private industry, government agencies or not-for-profit organizations. All our students have access to all of the resources offered by the career center, including mock interviews, career fairs, internships, career counseling and alumni networking.
