Stephanie Schmiege
Areas of expertise
Plant Physiology, Plant Ecology, Forest Ecology, Plants and Climate Change
Research interests
I am a plant physiological ecologist interested in understanding plant responses to environmental stressors. In my research I combine physiology, biochemistry and modeling to understand how plants function in a warmer, higher CO2 world. To answer these questions, I work across scales from leaves to canopies, and in a variety of ecosystems from the tropical highlands of Vietnam to the boreal forest and Arctic tundra of Alaska.
Teaching interests
Cellular Foundations of Life (BIO 104), Plant EcoPhysiology (BIO 353)
