My doctoral research focused on the brain's reward pathway, specifically nicotine addiction and in my postdoctoral fellowship I worked to apply the principles of motivated decision-making behavior to diversity and choice in higher education. Since then I have become interested in medical education research, curriculum development and social determinants of health. I am also passionate about health equity and the use of restorative justice practices in an academic setting.
