Mathematics Department
Some math majors will satisfy the college’s senior writing requirement by taking the senior writing seminar, MTH 487. Other math majors will satisfy the college’s senior writing requirement by doing a one-term thesis (MTH 497). One-term thesis availability is often limited and subject to staffing concerns.
Students planning on applying for honors in mathematics will satisfy the WS requirement with a two-term honors thesis (MTH 498-99).
Rising math-major seniors will get an email from the chair by the end of the winter term of their junior year, listing the WS possibilities available and asking for a ranking of preferences of the options.
