Burnt Toast: A Memoir of My Immigrant Grandmother, by Nancy Gerber '78, was recently reviewed by Kirkus Reviews. The book chronicles Gerber's efforts to learn more about her mysterious grandmother, who never shared details of the life she led before fleeing Ukraine for the U.S.
