This week’s Kenney Community Center Volunteer of the Week is Chelsea Curtis ’12.
Curtis, a neuroscience major and anthropology minor, volunteers at the Joan Nicole Prince Home, a facility for the terminally ill in Scotia. “The home is a wonderful place that can offer so much to those involved, residents, family members, and volunteers and staff alike,” Curtis said.
The volunteer said she finds her work at the home so rewarding that she’s applied to be a summer intern.
“Her caring personality comes through while connecting with the residents,” said Bonnie Kriss, outreach and volunteer coordinator at the home. “She has gone above and beyond by finding transportation to the home when her own vehicle was not available; and has taken the time and initiative to cook special meals for the residents.”
Curtis, from Rutland, Vt., is also a member of the Pre-Health Society and works at Shaffer Library.
