Actor and best-selling author Hill Harper will speak Monday, November 7,
at 7 p.m. in the Nott Memorial.
His talk, “Manifest Your Destiny” is free and open to the public.
Harper is the author of “Letters to a Young Brother: Manifest Your Destiny,” chosen by the American Library Association as the best book for youth and teens in 2007.
Harper, who stars in one of television’s top dramas, CSI:NY, formed the Manifest Your Destiny Foundation to encourage and enable at-risk youth to succeed. The foundation’s mission is to “provide underserved youth a path to empowerment and educational excellence through academic programming, college access skills, and personal development.”
An accomplished film, television and stage actor, Harper was named one of People magazine’s “Sexiest Men Alive” in 2004.
A magna cum laude graduate of Brown University and a cum laude graduate of Harvard Law School, Harper also has a master’s degree in public administration from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government.
His talk at Union is sponsored by the Speakers Forum, a student club.
