Students are selling scarves on campus to help raise money to send other students to provide health services in Peru during the winter break.
Organizers Alyssa Feldman '13 and Jessica Rivetz '14 are working with MEDLIFE (Medicine, Education, and Development for Low-Income Families Everywhere) to help 10 students travel to Cuzco, Peru during the winter break.
The students participate in providing primary health services for local residents. There are also opportunities to help with other humanitarian efforts such as building local schools and other important community facilities. Students from the University of San Diego, University of Delaware and the University of Denver will also be going.
The scarves, which cost $10, are made in Ecuador. Anyone interested in purchasing a scarf can contact Feldman at feldmana@garnet.union.edu.
