Ran Wang ’15 is this week’s Kenney Community Center Volunteer of the Week.
Wang has helped sort toys for the Marines’ Toys for Tots program, as well as assisted in flood cleanup by volunteering in Scotia and in Rotterdam Junction. Wang’s other efforts include volunteering at the Glendale Nursing Home and participating in the Best Buddy Program.
Volunteer work is a huge part of life at Union for Wang. “More than often, what moves us most is the tiny, simple but powerful love around us. By doing community service, I get to know my real strength,” Wang said.
“Ran has really embraced her new community. She not only volunteered during her first term at Union, but continued throughout the winter break. She has suggested several great ideas for service and is a pleasure to work with,” said Janet Sweeney, Program Coordinator of the Kenney Community Center.
An international student from Nanjing, China, Wang is an Economics major.
