John Garver, professor of geology, was recently interviewed on the Capitol Green Scene, a local radio show that airs Saturdays on 88.3 FM (The Saint-WVCR). Garver talked about Mohawk River flooding and the College’s recent river symposium. He was also the featured speaker at the Hudson-Mohawk Professional Geologists’ Association’s monthly meeting in Albany. He discussed flooding in the Mohawk watershed from Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee.
Stephen Berk, the Henry and Sally Schaffer Professor of Holocaust and Jewish Studies, spoke at Skidmore College for its 2012 Daniel Balmuth Lecture. His talk was “Our People are Your People: American Jews and the Struggle for Civil Rights 1954-1965.”
