Jennifer Sexton ’15 is this week’s Kenney Community Center’s Volunteer of the Week.
When working with the center, she runs the arts portion of the America Reads Reading and Arts Program. In addition to reading with the children, each week, Sexton also tutors a local high school student in physics and organizes a weekly project for children.
Additionally, Sexton is an organizer of Empty Bowls, an event on May 20 at Proctor’s Theatre, which will raise awareness and funds for local hunger issues.
Originally from Utica, where she volunteers as a figure skating instructor during the summer, Sexton is a biochemistry major who plans to conduct research in genetics. She is also the publicity advisor for the Environmental Club and teaches Learn to Skate lessons at the rink.
