LGBTQ Allies to provide support, information

LGBTQ Ally training will take place on Monday, June 4 from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The program is an educationally based program providing a safe space for members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transsexual and queer/questioning community at Union through identification of allies who can offer support and information.

This program aims to provide passive, supportive messages in the campus environment to confront homophobia and heterosexism. Identified allies offer themselves as role models for the LGBTQ students and staff. The hope of the program is to increase levels of tolerance and acceptance on campus.

Open to students and faculty, it is not necessary to become an Ally following training, but it is, however, a requirement to participate in the training to become one. If you would like to be involved, please email Kerrie Wolf-Piechota at wolfk@union.edu or Marcus Hotaling at hotalinm@union.edu by Friday, June 1.
