Union’s Student Volunteer Committee is partnering with the Kenney
Community Center for the week of Valentine’s Day to spread not love, but simple kindness by hosting the 2nd annual Random Acts of Kindness Week.
Beginning Monday, committee members will set up in Reamer Campus Center every day from noon to 2 p.m. with an array of activities and incentives including free hot cocoa on Tuesday, a thank-you card table, a bake sale to benefit the Schenectady City Mission, Sunnygrams from Project Sunshine and giveaways throughout the week.
Students will find free raffle tickets in their mailboxes that they can hand in at the Reamer tables for a chance to win prizes donated by Union departments and local merchants.
“All of campus is encouraged to participate,” said Janet Sweeney, assistant director of Community Outreach. “Look for our tables, receive our acts of kindness and pass it on.”
