This week’s Kenney Community Center volunteer of the week is Chris Nwosu ’16.
Nwosu is Vice President of the African Students Association and a member of Phenomenal Males, a group that strives to challenge young men from multicultural backgrounds to live responsible lives, develop their talents, get involved in the community and build their self-esteems.
A Davidson RA, Nwosu acts as a big brother in Union’s Big Brother Big Sister program. He serves as Vice President of COCOA House Club, which coordinates student volunteers for an after-school mentoring/tutoring program in Schenectady. He also mentors for Union’s Science and Technology Entry Program (STEP), a program that encourages youth to pursue education in STEM fields.
Originally from Nigeria, Nwosu is double majoring in Psychology and Political Science. In his most recent act of volunteerism, Nwosu participated in the John Calvin Toll Day of Service on October 19, along with hundreds of his fellow classmates.
