This week, Emanuel Storch ‘16 and Yilun Zhang ’15 are the Kenney Community Center Volunteers of the Week.
Storch and Zhang are Co-Leaders of Good Eats, a cooking program on campus that brings together Union Students and Schenectady ARC participants. Good Eats recently held its first event of the term, which consisted of preparing and eating a meal with residents of Schenectady ARC.
Originally from Phoenix, Ariz., Storch is pursuing a major in economics. He serves as president of U for Israel, a campus organization that promotes the relationship between the U.S. and Israel through cultural, political and social events. He also runs his own food blog, Scratch, which promotes healthy and mindful eating for college students.
Zhang, a pre-med student, double-majoring in neuroscience and philosophy, lives in Danbury, Conn. In addition to Good Eats, he is involved with the Joan Nicole Prince Home, a comfortable home for the terminally ill, where he provides end-of-life care and emotional support. He is also a member of Nu Rho Psi; Men’s Track and Field; MEDLIFE; Pre-Health Society; and Student National Medical Association: Minority Association of Pre-Medical Students. He is currently training to be a smoking cessation counselor with Schenectady Free Health Clinic.
