Natalia Pronchik ’17 and Allie Novak ’17 are the Kenney Community Center’s Volunteers of the Week.
This year, Pronchik and Novak are starting “Humans of Schenectady” in an effort to “make people realize what Schenectady has to offer through pictures and quotes based on interactions between locals.”
“’Humans of Schenectady’ is a project that we are working on that will be modeled after the website ‘Humans of New York,” Novak said. “We hope to help Union College students and Schenectady residents connect to the community, as well as capture the inspiring stories of individuals in our community.”
Both are also undertaking leadership roles with U-ReBloom, a Union club that visits local nursing homes and delivering flowers from Union events. Additionally, they both volunteer at the homework help program at the Kenney Center. To get involved with either project, email volunteer@union.edu.
A Lexington, Mass. native, Pronchik is a member of the women’s tennis team.
Novak is originally from Pittsford, N.Y. and is majoring in mechanical engineering. She is a member of the cross country team and the Spanish club.
