The Kenney Community Center’s Volunteer of the Week is Olivia Williamson ’16.
A member of the Alpha Delta Lambda sorority, Williamson is also the president of the Environmental Club. She lives in Wells House, the community service theme house, in addition to serving as the student coordinator of ABC –Arts, Books and Crafts – an after school program at the Kenney Center for local elementary school children every Friday.
Williamson helps organize weekly community service projects for new members of her sorority, which focuses primarily on local philanthropic efforts. Recently, Alpha Delta Lambda volunteered at the Easy Street Horse Rescue and made care packages for soldiers. The sorority also has upcoming plans to raise money for pancreatic cancer research and to make scarves for the homeless this winter.
“Olivia is one of our steady Union Volunteers. She was a participant in the Community Service pre-orientation program her first year and has been volunteering ever since,” said Janet Sweeney of the Kenney Center.
Originally from Sterling, Mass., Williamson is a biology major and plays piccolo in the pep band.
