As we commemorate the 150th anniversary of the end of the Civil War and the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln, the College opens an exhibition about Union alumni and others from the College were key witnesses and makers of history in this era.
“Profound and Poignant: Union College Connections to the Civil War Era” opens Tuesday, April 14, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Nott Memorial.
It will include remarks from President Stephen C. Ainlay and co-curators Prof. Andrea Foroughi and Prof. Tom Werner, and a performance by the Union College Chorale directed by Prof. John Cox.
The exhibition will be on display throughout 2015.
The co-curators recognize the encouragement and generosity of President Ainlay; the support of the Office of Communications, Mandeville Gallery, Schaffer Library and the Union Notables Committee; and the summer research efforts of Peter Scatena ’16.
