Lindsay Morton, visiting assistant professor of psychology, is the Kenney Community Center’s Volunteer of the Week.
During winter term, Morton created the Community-Based Learning Project as a component of her Social Psychology course. Through this project, students work with a local organization in the community each week throughout the term and write reflective essays integrating their experiences with psychological concepts and themes. Some organizations include COCOA House, the Damien Center, Project Sunshine and the Boys and Girls Club, among others.
Morton also teaches other courses like Health Psychology, Introduction to Psychology and Statistical Methods in Psychology. Her research focuses primarily on self-regulation of healthy behavior, and she is also involved in the committees for Student Research Grants as well as Sexual Assault and Violence Education. She also works with the teaching circle for Experiential Learning.
