Passionate about:
- John Calvin Toll Day - The fact that so many students are sent out into the Schenectady Community to make an impact is tremendous. The work that can be done to help out charities and organizations during this day by Union Students can really benefit the community.
- The Mommy Bags for Malawi - Union students were able to make bags filled with things to help new and expecting mothers in Malawi. I think this was so important because we reached people who are in need around the world, to make a global impact.
- Empty Bowls - I think that this charity event is very important because it helps to bring the Schenectady community into a cause the can benefit so many children.
Why do you volunteer?
I like to volunteer because I like to help people. I like to feel that I have made an impact on someone’s life, whether it is helping to raise money for a cause, or getting kids the supplies they need for school. If I can make a difference in someone’s life then it’s all worth it.
Do you have any causes/projects that are particularly meaningful or close to you?
I feel that working to provide food for people who need it is a cause that is most important to me. Whether it’s working at the food bank, helping to make food at Bethesda House, or working with Empty Bowls, providing people with food they need is important. Everyone should have the necessities of life, no child should go hungry and we have the ability to change it.
