The College will sponsor an evening of science discussion and Q&A with Neil deGrasse Tyson, celebrated astrophysicist, cosmologist, author and science communicator, at Proctors on April 11.
Tyson, director of the Hayden Planetarium, hosts Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey and is the former host of NOVA ScienceNOW on PBS. He is also a research associate of the Department of Astrophysics at the American Museum of Natural History. Tyson's professional research interests are broad, but include star formation, exploding stars, dwarf galaxies, and the structure of our Milky Way. More information about Tyson
Members of the Union community have a range of ticket purchase options. Employees can secure tickets at $50 through the Office of Human Resources. A deposit of $25 per ticket is due no later than Tuesday, Mar. 1—the balance by Friday, April. 1. Seating is on the main floor on both the left and right loge, and in the center stage balcony. Tickets are available on a first come, first serve basis.
Employees can also purchase tickets at a 10 percent discount through the Proctors box office at (518) 346-6204. Normal ticket/order fees will be charged. The discount is not available on already discounted tickets such as Cloud Club.
