The Union College Science and Technology Entry Program (STEP) recently competed in the 19th annual STEP Statewide Science Conference, celebrating 30 years of the program.
The College hosts a summer program for 43 middle and high school students, and provides the opportunity for each participant to work in a small group with two to three of their peers and a Union College student mentor to work on a science research project along with taking STEM classes. This year's competition teams, with students from Schenectady and Niskayuna high schools, were mentored by Jordan Thompson '18 and Christie Dionisos '19.
One of the College's teams took first place in the senior division for Biological Life Sciences.
