Author Andrew Forsthoefel of "Walking to Listen" on campus Feb. 7-8

Publication Date

Andrew Forsthoefel, author of Walking to Listen, will visit campus Feb. 7-8 for a public lecture and workshop.

In 2011, Forsthoefel walked out his backdoor near Philadelphia with a backpack and a sign that read “Walking to Listen.” What followed was a year-long, 4,000 mile journey on foot all the way across America, and the beginning of a life-long apprenticeship to the transformational discipline of listening.

In addition to visiting classes, he will offer a public lecture on Wednesday, Feb. 7 at 5 p.m. in Karp 105 featuring stories from his walk and exploring the healing power of listening and its applications in our everyday lives. On Thursday, Feb. 8, he will offer a common hour workshop on listening in Old Chapel, to be followed by a community walk.

Forsthoefel's visit is sponsored by the Office of Minerva Programs. For more information please contact Pattie Wareh at warehp@union.edu.
