Dr. Jennifer Turner, director of the Woodrow Wilson Center's China Environment Forum, will speak at Union during common lunch Tuesday, Feb. 6 in Karp 105.
She will discuss “China’s Environmental Tipping Point and its "Eco-Warriors." Turner will focus on the obstacles and drivers of China’s accelerating moves at low carbon development happening concurrently with its massive high carbon appetite as part of China’s one belt one road programs in Southeast Asia, Africa and Latin America. She will also discuss the current rocky landscape of U.S.-China energy and environmental cooperation.
The event is presented by Film Studies’ Environmental Action Media Lab, with support from Environmental Science, Policy & Engineering; Dean of Academic Departments and Programs; Dean of Studies; Film Studies; Interdisciplinary Studies; Internal Education Fund; The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and Presidential Green Grants.
