Union is embarking on its reaccreditation process with the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE), the College's official accrediting agency.
This process begins this fall as it initiates an institutional self-study process and continues through the spring of 2020, when the MSCHE committee visit will take place, and into the 2020-21 academic year, when the College will receive the final report and findings.
Strom Thacker, the Stephen J. and Diane K. Ciesinski Dean of Faculty and Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Peter Bedford, the John and Jane Wold Professor of Religious Studies and the Director of Religious Studies and Jewish Studies, will serve co-chairs of the steering committee to lead this process.
The steering committee will be made up of faculty, administrators and students and will oversee the gathering of information for and drafting of our Self-Study document by a series of seven to eight working groups.
To initiate this process, Union's MSCHE Liaison, Idna Corbett, will be visiting campus to meet with faculty, staff, students and administrators to explain the accreditation process, discuss the role that those groups play in it and answer questions about it. This community forum will take place during common hour on Wednesday, September 26, in Olin 115, 12:50-1:50pm.
