Maria Dreeszen ’14 is this week’s Kenney Community Center's Volunteer of the Week.
Dreeszen is a leader of the Junior Science Program where she organizes science experiments and projects for fourth-grade students. She has also volunteered on John Calvin Toll Day and UCARE Day. Additionally, Dreeszen is the co-president of Colleges Against Cancer, a club which raises cancer awareness and organizes the annual Relay for Life event.
She is also a Posse Scholar and resident advisor in Fox Hall, as well as co-president of MEDLIFE, vice president of the Catholic Student Association and secretary of the Pre-Health Society. She is also a member of Wold Minerva House Council.
“Maria is a great student leader. She stepped in to get the Junior Science Program restarted this winter and has done an outstanding job,” said Janet Sweeney, program coordinator.
A Revere, Mass. native, Dreeszen is a biology major and dance minor who said she is one day working to become a pediatric dentist.
