President David Harris has invited the campus community to join him on Sunday morning, Sept. 11, for Back to U – a bike ride, run and walk to kick off the new academic year.
This annual event is intended as a way to relax with friends and meet the newest members of the Union community.
Harris will be joining the cyclists at 8:30 a.m. at the Nott Memorial for a 12-mile ride along the Mohawk River. Runners will leave at 9:15 for a 5K group run. Walkers will leave at 9:30 a.m. for a 1.5-mile (or so) walk around campus. Finally, around 10 a.m., all participants are invited to the President’s House front lawn for refreshments (See schedule below.)
For participants in the bike ride, Professor Andy Morris of History will give a brief interpretation at the Erie Canal Lock 23 historic site.
