The Visual Arts Department’s inaugural Art Fair will be held in conjunction with Open Studios May 3, 4:30-6:30 p.m., throughout the Feigenbaum Center for Visual Arts.
The event, open to the campus community and friends, is an opportunity to purchase student artwork and sample techniques and equipment in a number of studios. All supplies for the events will be provided, and all skill levels are welcome.
The Sculpture Studio will hold a clay sculpting workshop with self-hardening clay, while participants can visit the digital art studio to use the laser cutter to make a key chain.
The welding studio will hold a CNC cutting and carving demonstration, “Digital to Physical Workflows in the Arts,” and the printmaking studio will celebrate spring with a demo called “Propagation, Proliferation and Procreation.”
In the photography studio, lights will be set up to help visitors take great shots and email them directly from the studio. The drawing studio will offer figure drawing with a nude artist’s model.
Also featured are button making, music, a taco bar and a cash bar.
