The decision by the College of Saint Rose to close at the end of this academic year marks a sad ending to more than a century of academic history in the capital region.
As the Saint Rose community deals with the heartbreaking ramifications of the closure, Union College has reached out with an offer of support for Saint Rose students.
In order to help current Saint Rose students continue their undergraduate studies, Union is offering a simplified and expedited transfer process for anyone with a 3.0 grade point average or higher. Details include:

- Expedited financial aid evaluation for all those who submit a CSS profile
- No application required for students who have previously applied to Union

- Full consideration for merit scholarships, which range from $18,000 to $30,000 for highly qualified students
- Admissions decisions will be delivered on a rolling basis as applications are received and reviewed.
Students wishing to attend Union next fall have until June 30, 2024, to apply.

“The closing of Saint Rose is a blow to higher education in the Capital region,” said Matt Malatesta, Vice President for Admissions, Financial Aid and Enrollment. “I am impressed by the partnership and support shown by other colleges and universities in the area, and Union stands ready to help students, where we can, find their way to new academic opportunities.”
