The Department of English is pleased to announce that two students, Ashley Dell'Oso and Mahir Tazwar, have been awarded scholarships to attend the New York State Summer Writers Institute at Skidmore College. Directed by Robert Boyers, the summer program gives the students the opportunity to study with and attend readings by an award-winning faculty.

Jordan Smith, Edward Everett Hale Jr., Professor of English, has published "Sugar in the Gourd," an essay about old-time music, depression, Bob Dylan, and history and memory in Air/Light.
