A group of 21 Union Trustees, faculty, staff and students have agreed to serve on the College’s search committee for the selection of the institution’s 20th president, said search committee chair Rich Delaney ’80, who also serves as the chair of the Union Trustees Facilities committee.
Union President David R. Harris announced on Sept. 9 that he would be stepping down on June 30, 2025, at the end of his seventh year.
“This outstanding group represents leaders across the College’s major constituent groups, and I am grateful that they have agreed to serve in this important role,” Delaney said. “I look forward to working with each of them and also hearing from other members of the Union community during this process.”
In addition to the search committee, the College has contracted with the executive search firm Isaacson Miller to serve as its outside consultant to support the search committee in identifying candidates for consideration by the Board of Trustees, which is responsible for selecting the new president.
As the search process begins, the presidential search committee and the Isaacson Miller team will consult widely with Union faculty, students, staff, trustees and other key stakeholders to learn their views about the future of the college and the type of leader that can best carry Union forward. This process of broad consultation will begin with meetings with senior academic and administrative leadership and listening sessions with the campus community.
