Theme House Application Process
How to apply
Much like our other student residences on campus, our students who desire to live in a theme house for the next academic year begin this process during the winter term. The first step to securing housing in a theme house for the 2025 - 2026 academic year is for interested students to complete their Housing Registration form in their Student Housing portal. In the Housing Registration, there will be an option for students to opt into the Theme House application process. Once a student selects "yes" indicating that they would like to participate in the Theme House process, they will be prompted to complete the following application questions. Please note that responses will be limited to 300 characters per question.
- Why would you like to be a member of your selected theme community?
- Please outline any associated with on or off-campus organizations, groups, major,s etc that are tied to your selected theme.
- How would living in a shared house with your preferred theme house community impact your residential experience on campus?
2025 - 2026 Theme Houses
The following theme houses will be available to apply to for the 2025-2026 academic year:
1294 Lenox Rd - Ozone Sustainability House - 15 beds
301 Seward - Iris LGBTQ+ House - 7 beds
32 Union Avenue - Community Service House - 7 beds
Wells House - Arts Collective Community - 20 beds
Smith House - Bronner Multicultural Theme - 14 beds
Being a resident of a theme house is a privilege that comes with responsibility. Each resident of a theme house must support the mission of the specific house and be a positive influence on the community. This includes knowing and being an active participant in all house activities.
Application Review & Assignment
After the Housing Registration form closes on January 31st, 2025 applications will be pulled and sent to the Faculty/Staff advisor and student representative for each respective theme house. Answers to the applications will be reviewed and used to make determinations on rosters for each house.
Once rosters have been determined, our office will reach out to each student who has been selected to live in a theme house to confirm their participation. Upon confirmation of participation, students will be placed in their assigned theme house.

- If a student chooses to confirm their participation in a theme house they are locked into that choice and will be unable to change or give up their room to participate in any other housing selection processes
- Failure to apply to Theme Housing and complete the Housing Registration form by January 31st will result in a student being able to live in a theme house
- Theme housing is only available to rising junior and rising senior students
