SparkLab

SparkLab is an entrepreneurship program designed to help students gain the knowledge needed to bring a business idea to market. Participants are mentored by alumni, parents and service providers who facilitate basic business principles and entrepreneurship frameworks on how to launch a new venture, hone presentation skills and more - all while competing for a chance to earn start-up capital.

• Workshops and discussion are facilitated by alumni, parents, faculty and leaders in Schenectady.
• Presenters are serial entrepreneurs, experienced business founders/CEOs, service providers and financial experts/investors.
• Students prepare pitch decks for the annual Pitch Competition and an opportunity to win $15,000 in seed capital.
• SparkLab Advisory Committee provides oversight of the program and assists with securing judges for the Pitch Competition.
• Student ventures are supported after the competition by the SparkLab alumni Network (GarnetGrove).
