The Wicker Wellness Center is eager to assist you with any health concerns you may have while at Union. As per NYS law and Union College Policy, certain health requirements must be completed prior to the start of classes for all first-year or new incoming students. Returning students do not need to resubmit these requirements. To ensure a smooth start to your college career, be sure to complete the following requirements by June 14, 2024. Transfer students and new incoming students beginning in Winter or Spring terms must complete the health requirements three weeks before their entry term begins. The Health Requirements Checklist will guide you through the process of completing your Union College Health Requirement. Print a copy of the checklist and read all the directions carefully to be sure you have completed each step in its entirety.
Health Requirement links
You must register on the Student Health Portal using your Union College username (your Union College email account address minus the "@union.edu"). If you have trouble registering, please contact our Information Technology Services Help Desk at (518) 388-6400 or helpdesk@union.edu to reset your student health portal access.
Union requires that all students have health and accident insurance.
Coverage is effective July 1, 2024 - June 30, 2025 for International students and August 1, 2024 - July 31, 2025 for domestic students.
Domestic Students
Domestic students must actively ENROLL IN or WAIVE the Student Health Plan by September 20, 2024.
(Please note an insurance waiver is only good for one year and students need to waive student health insurance annually)
Coverage is effective August 1, 2024 through July 31, 2025 with an annual cost of $2699.67. The health insurance coverage is with MVP.
To Enroll or Waive insurance, students should log into the Haylor, Freyer, & Coon website. https://www.haylor.com/union (This link will be available June 28, 2024)
International Students
International students are automatically enrolled in and billed for the annual insurance plan. This coverage is mandatory and cannot be waived. Coverage is effective July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025 with an annual cost of $2699.67. The health insurance coverage is with MVP.

- Immunization Record - Please read Union's Student Immunization Policy
- Physical Exam Form
- Every incoming student must have had a physical exam within the last 12 months prior to arrival on campus
- Student ATHLETES must have a physical within 6 months of their arrival date.
- Athletes - upload sickle cell documentation
- A student-athlete must provide documented results from a newborn sickle cell solubility test or from a recent sickle cell lab test.
- To request an exemption from vaccinations: Student Request for Exemption from Vaccinations.
*Some students may need a PPD Test (Tuberculosis Test) and/or a chest x-ray (read the Tuberculosis Risk Form carefully to see what you need). If needed, PPD tests and chest x-rays must be completed within the last 12 months prior to arrival on campus.
