Students in the Physics 100 First-Year Seminar class joined Professors Koopmann and Hallenbeck for an observing run at Arecibo Observatory the nights of Oct 21 and 22. Observations of gas-rich galaxies were carried out remotely by projecting Arecibo computer screens in Professor Koopmann’s lab at Union. Students observed in groups of 3-4 in hour-long slots, helping to log the observations and monitor the data.
