Three students presented posters on their research projects at the annual fall meeting of the Division of Nuclear Physics of the American Physical Society in Crystal City, VA, on October 14-17. The presentations included Jacob Feinstein '21: "Development of a Positron-Electron Annihilation Spectrometer to Characterize Defects in Crystalline Materials at Union College"; Colin Langton '22: "Development of a System to Screen for PFAS Chemicals Using PIGE at Union College"; and Mia Villeneuve '22: "PIXE Analysis of Heavy Metals in Soil Along East River." These projects were performed in the Union College Ion-Beam Analysis Laboratory with Scott LaBrake, Senior Lecturer and Accelerator Manager, Michael Vineyard, the Frank and Marie Louise Bailey Professor of Physics, and Heather Watson, the John D. MacArthur Assistant Professor of Physics.
