Terrazzo Flooring Project: Main Entrance Closure 12/2/2024

When will the flooring project take place and what can visitors expect?

Beginning December 2nd, workers will be preparing the main entrance of the library for construction. The main entrance to the Library will be closed. All visitors should use the side door on the south side, near the loading dock, to enter and exit the building (please see the map below).

Repairs to the floor will begin on Monday, December 9, 2024. Visitors will experience noise disruptions, especially on the west side of the building near the main entrance.

What are library hours during this project?

We anticipate Schaffer Library to remain open during our typical Winter Break hours: Monday through Friday, 9am-5pm. For the most up-to-date information about building hours, visit our Hours page.

What services are available during this project?

Library services will remain available. A temporary Library Service Desk will be staged in the Lally Reading Room, on the east side of the Library.

From December 2, 2024 - January 3, 2025, the ITS Help Desk located inside Schaffer Library will be relocated to the Peschel Computer Center.

Where can I find updates about this project?

Schaffer Library staff will monitor the progress of the project and will update building access and make changes to services as needed. Changes will be communicated via our website.
