Fast Facts

In Fall 2024 we:

Taught 421 students...

...across 34 research instruction classes, including 11 Escape Rooms which function as an entry to the library and its resources.

Honored Cherokee culture...

Hosted a lecture for almost 50 attendees on the history and social context of Cherokee Language printing which included a reading from the Cherokee Bible held in our Special Collections.

Offered 12 outreach programs...

...engaging approximately 700 attendees. These programs are meant to connect with and inspire members of our Union College community, especially our students. Select events and activities included a collaboration with BSU entitled Ban on Books which was a presentation and discussion that encouraged students to think about the impact of book challenges and bans on free speech, and a LASO Latinx Heritage Month Kickoff activity with a poetry reading and very tasty pupusas.

Supported researcher identities...

...by hosting a tabling event which promoted ORCID as a resource to track scholarly activity.

Answered 149 research questions...

...and an additional 54 questions focusing on Special Collections & Archives.
